Player Outlook
Jurickson Profar was a solid offensive piece for the Padres in 2022 with a 111 wRC+ in 152 contests, but he scuffled to a .242/.321/.368 slash line between the Rockies and Padres last season. He then re-signed with San Diego on a one-year deal for 2024, and the offseason departures of Juan Soto and Trent Grisham leave plenty of playing time in the outfield. Profar has a limited ceiling given his career .705 OPS and below-average power and speed, but he could be a volume contributor in deeper fantasy leagues. Profar's homers proved to be the difference -- he got the Padres on the board in the fourth inning with a two-run shot off Grayson Rodriguez before putting San Diego ahead for good by going deep off Craig Kimbrel in the ninth. Profar has been on a tear of late, going 8-for-23 (.348) with four homers in his last five contests. His slash line is up to .301/.387/.493 through 104 games this season with 18 home runs, just two shy of a career high.
