The figure is based on his character card:
- Box and Packaging -
Xiao comes in a pretty big box with size: width - 22cm, length - 33cm, height - 35cm. Keep in mind shipping could be expensive, I paid 34$ EMS shipping from China to Europe.
The box design is pretty, I quite like the colors and patterns. The front has a big window showcasing the figure

One side has a promo shot of the figure

The back has a couple detail figure shots and company info

The other side has the name of the figure printed in English

And the top has the name printed in Chinese

The blister

- Assembly -
The figure comes in 5 pieces - figure, base, main spear and 2 spear pieces that attach to the base. There is an instruction manual translated to English

Assembly is not too difficult. You have to put Xiao on the base, the spear in his hand (it detaches in the middle for easier assembly) and the 2 translucent spear pieces in the base. All was good until I noticed my copy was missing one of the base spears:

I am super disappointed with this, I’ve contacted my proxy and I’ll update the article if there is any development. Until then I’ll have an incomplete figure.
- Base and Pose -
I am not super fond of the base. It does have impact and looks dramatic but the paint job is not super great

It has a very shiny finish, especially the spears sticking out from it, giving it a plasticky not realistic look. Another thing of note is he has a large footprint with diameter of about 27cm because of the protruding spears.

The pose is faithful to the character illustration. A bit boring but the clothes are really well detailed. Only difference to the illustration is his head is a little downturned in figure form, opposed to the illustration’s upward look.

- Sculpt and Paint -
The sculpt and paint of the figure are really great. I believe they went with a more simple colour palette on the base to not detract from the figure but they went all out on Xiao himself. Let’s take a look from the bottom up.
His shoes have a nice gradient and shiny finish.

There is a gem strapped to his right boot.

His pants are nicely shaded and wrinkled with matte finish. The gold design is very cleanly painted

The design on the sash at his front is very nice and the golden pendants nicely detailed

His sleeve also has a nice pattern and is sculpted as if in motion

Side sashes of his pants

There is also a fabric piece at his back coming down from the neck

I love how they’ve done the spear. The green translucent plastic with gold looks great.

His back muscles are nicely defined

He’s got a pauldron on one of his shoulders

His other shoulder is bare, showing off his tattoo

His abs are really well defined, and he’s got a necklace that is not fixed in place

His mask is really well detailed and very shiny

His hair has a nice gradient from dark to light green with teal highlights

And finally the face - I think the eye decals are really striking.

- Size Comparison -
Xiao is 27cm tall with the base and 22cm on his own. Given he is 1/7 scale that would make him 154cm which is exactly his height according to a Google search I made.
Here he is next to Lio 1/7 scale by Kotobukiya item/846005. They are both really colourful and I like them together

And here he is next to Merlin 1/8 scale by Alter item/604482. I think they also pair well even though they are different scales

- Enjoyment and Conclusion -
I love how he came out! This was my first Apex figure and I am quite happy with the quality. Too bad about the missing piece, will see if I ever get a replacement.
